“Massachusetts Probate and Family Court has jurisdiction over family-related matters such as divorce, support, paternity establishment, family abuse protection, elderly abuse protection, disabled person’s abuse protection, custody and adoption.”

Probate matters are filed within the county where the individual resides or did reside prior to death.

If you’re unsure of locations, you can view a county and or city map of Massachusetts. Both these present day maps are provided free of charge by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

If you do not have “pdf reader software”, first download and install Acrobat Reader (it’s free!). You’ll need this in order to view and/or print the two “pdf” maps below.
